Points Of Views.
With regards about our punishment, I tried to look at things from different point of views.
Note1: Please try to ignore any grammatical errors, tenses errors, spelling errors and sentence phrasing errors. ^^
Note2: This post does not serve as an attempt to offend anyone.
Note3: The point of view is just me trying to put myself in their shoes. Sorry if I got it wrong. =X
I'm not a mind reader. =XX !
#1: Mr Zaid's point of view. - sorry if I miss interpret.Having to listen to other teacher's complaining about his own form class can seem to be a disgrace to you, not handing up our work (Which is somehow not quite true. Explain later.) , hearing other teachers complain about us being noisy, not being co-operative and so on.
Punishing us might seem like it is a way to make us learn our lesson, hope that we would not do it again, to save the time, to save teachers from having to nag at us about our attire, our grooming, our assignments and everything. For our benefits, to be short. You got pissed with us too, saying that we are showing attitude and stuff. And that the reason why you don't let us get too familiar with you is because, familiarity breeds contempt? Something like that. And that we would walk over your head and being disrespect to you. Maybe looking from this point. We are in the wrong. X_X !
#2: Mr Teo's point of view. - hope I see it correctly. As our A-Maths teacher, you tried to teach us whatever you think we should know. You tried your best to get our attention so as to let us absorb as much information about this subject as possible. A-Maths is a new subject and not easy to get the hang (am I right? =X) so you really need our full attention. You probably think we might be needing help for some of us are unfortunately weak in Maths and thus allowed us to discuss in pairs, or small groups. But you did not expect that we got so carried away with the discussion that we totally forgot that you still want to teach and thus pissed you off.
If we want to improve, we got to do our assignments and then hand up to you on time so that you can take a look and review it. To see how much we learn, how much we understand. Some of us did not hand up in time and therefore you probably thought we don't take your words seriously and do not give much attention to this subject. You tried to guide us and help us understand the topic better by giving us remedials but many did not turn up. Disappointing so therefore, from your point of view, yeah, you should be angry. X_X !
Point of view of 3BN.Attire, grooming: According to what the school rules states, the way we would end up looking if we stick exactly to the rules is extremely nerd? X_X ? Thus sometimes we break one or two rules especially about the shirt being tucked out or the ankle socks. It's more comfortable the way we dressed now. The rules is just some limits.
Late handing up of homework might be due to having CCAs or trouble trying to complete the work. Or some think it's because it's a new year so can slack abit. =X But then again, we hope to seek understanding from the teacher if we really do have some valid reasons. Example is like Mr Teo's remedial, some of us can't make it because we have appointments or other reasons. This does not mean that we do not take your lessons seriously or what. Things are different from the past, as time went, many things changed, the way of learning, the syllabus taught, not to mention the amount of homework each day for each subject. You labelled us as the worse class for handing up homework without even trying to understand the real reason. If you just reprimanded, maybe we could still understand you. But calling us the worse class or something like that. Please spare a thought for our feelings, who likes to be called the worse class or being labelled with a word that is negative. Even if we are students, even if we are much much younger than you, but even so, we have our own pride, our own reasons. We really hope you as a teacher, can try to understand.
My point of viewNo one likes to have spammers intruding their blog tagging something nonsensical.
Even if the spams are not hurtful, not negative, it's still sort of unplesant. I don't believe anyone in 3BN would give their own class blog's URL to someone who they know would spam Jane.
We can't control the fingers of others, to spy on what they type and everything. I suggest we could keep the class blog private if we really want to prevent spammers.
No students likes to spend any time of their day outside Grand Auditorium, trying to finish their homework. Given a choice, I would also want to hand up my homework on time, to finish what I can. But the thing is, I can't. It's not as if I didn't tried hard enough. I did. I paid attention in class but sometimes, my brain just can't absorb whatever that is projected right infront of me. The concepts are so hard to take it. I tried to ask friends for help, classmates, online friends. I did my best to try on every questions. But heys, how many subjects are we taking? Just Maths and A-Maths alone, the amount of homework given to us is enough to kill. == !!
Many of us probably find 24 hours a day is not enough. We have our CCAs, we have our things to do. We start school at 7.45am everyday and average at around 2.45pm. For myself, I need time to go home since it's not really near school. On average, I need around 1hour to get home. To get settled for the best condition to be able to do homework, put away the materials for the homework for previous night, bathe, eat, and start doing homework. How much time is needed. Everyday, homework for more than a subject is given. Sometimes, I just can't find the answer no matter how much I tried. Maths was never easy for me. I need time. More time than normal people, considering that I'm a slow learner.
How am I able to hand up 4 worksheets on time? And, regarding the remedial that was held. It's not that I don't want to go. I really really want to go too considering how much it would help me. But the problem was that, I had my third language class. Both subjects are equally important. MSP is considered in curriculum time, if I were to go for the Maths remedial and skipped MSP for even just a mere 30mins as you claim, according to Mr.Chua, the DM, missing even 5mins of the lesson is considered as a truancy. In addition, that MSP lesson was the first MSP lesson ever since school starts. First lesson and if I am late. How would my teacher think? I would probably be labelled as irresponsible and it would also be unfair to my teacher if I were to stood her up for other out of curriculum time lesson.
Seeing things from so many point of views is kind of interesting. LOLS!
I thought about it alot. This might not apply to the people I mentioned but that's how I feel when I tried putting myself in their shoes. I must apologise if I said something wrong without knowing it. Or offended anyone. Really sorry. But really, that's just my personal opinion so. Don't bear a grudge on me. =X
